Philsoc hosts movie nights every fortnight, featuring films embedded with deep philosophical concepts. These screenings bring together cinephiles and philosophy enthusiasts, engaging them in thought-provoking discussions of existential, ethical, and metaphysical themes. We also maintain a Letterboxd profile, inviting recommendations and encouraging conversation!

Eika Chaturvedi Banerjee, founder of Eikam Resonance, led an insightful session organized by AWIBL on using ancient scriptures to address modern corporate challenges. She emphasized that true leadership arises from resonance—aligning inner values with actions. Drawing from Indian epics, she highlighted Shri Ram's inclusivity and Shri Krishna's guidance as examples of leadership rooted in values rather than titles.

The PhilSoc and the Anime Club came together to screen Psycho-Pass, a dystopian future anime discussing essential questions on free will and ethics, followed by a discussion on its themes led by Professors Tatyana Kostochka and Alexander Siantonas.

After years of being in hibernation, the PhilSoc finally made a public appearance at the Academic Societies Fair, organised by the Ashoka Ministry of Academic Affairs. We played a mini game at our stall with the visitors where we tried to resolve logical and ethical paradoxes with them.
It is an occasion for philosophically minded students to learn from, and (attempt to) teach each other. (Hopefully) Every week, students from or associated with the department prepare some philosophy literature/material that they would like to communicate with/think is important enough to warrant the notice and attention of their peers.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the artistic landscape. AI algorithms can now generate images, music, and even literature that rival human-created works in complexity and beauty. But what does this mean for our understanding of art and aesthetics? Can machines truly be creative, or are they simply mimicking human artists? This panel discussion will bring together philosophers, artists, and AI researchers to explore these questions.
